Program Description:
The Jewel City Church After School Program offers children from kindergarten to 8th grade a place to go during the hours following school (from 3pm – 6 pm) on Mondays - Fridays. The program offers a safe place for children to learn, be loved, and have fun! Children will be tutored, finish their homework, make crafts, play games, and most importantly, learn about Jesus. Children will be fed – physically and spiritually – through this program. The intended start for this program is the fall of 2024 or the winter of 2025 at the latest. The hope and vision for this program is that it would impact and influence the lives of young children in a meaningful and eternal way. 

Job Description:
This will be a full-time position but may start as a part-time position. The program and facilities manager will manage the staff and programming of the Jewel City Church After School Program and the rental and coordination of the Buzz Henderson facilities. Hours will likely vary but will require evening hours as the program itself will not end until 6 pm.

Responsible For
For the After-School Program Side of the Position:
  • - Recruit and hire staff
  • - Administrating the state licensing requirements
  • - Oversee, schedule and instruct the team / staffing of the after-school program
  • - Organizing daily activities of the after-school program (I.e., crafts, games. food, Bible lesson)
  • - Preparing and purchasing any materials required for daily activities
  • - Producing sustainable goals for the program
  • - Developing a budget for the program
  • - Researching funding sources for the program
  • - Regularly evaluating and assessing the programs’ strengths and weaknesses
  • - Monitoring projects / tasks assigned to staff and overseeing program staffing to ensure goals are met
  • - Meeting with church staff / board to discuss program status and goals
  • - Brainstorming outreach strategies for reaching more students and then implementing those strategies
  • - Being a motivating mentor to staff and training new employees
  • - Establishing/enforcing program policies
  • - Contacting parents and solving any issues that arise from program operations
  • - Developing rapport with school administration and staff to ensure positive and cooperative relationships
  • - Other duties and tasks as assigned

For the Facilities Side of the Position:
  • - Coordinating with various parties to schedule practices, games and tournaments within the facilities
  • - Scheduling the proper staffing for events such as these
  • - Developing a facility rental process
  • - Developing opportunities for the facilities to be used (hosting a tournament, reaching out to local coaches about the ability to rent the facilities, raising awareness about the Buzz Henderson’s availability, etc.)
  • - Coordinate the cleaning of the facility with head of maintenance 
Additional Requirements
  • - Background in education is highly preferred 
  • - Experience working with children 
  • - Faithful believer in Jesus Christ 
  • - An active role in a local church 
  • - Team leadership and management experience (preferred)
